Turing Tumble Review
Review of Turing Tumble, coming from a parent with a six-year-old gadget obsessed boyo who's totally hooked on at least the first 20 challenges (Though past that the game is currently more of a cool marble track, he will get more of it as he gets older I am sure!).
Getting started is pretty easy, the start of the game gives you a good run down. Got all the bits and bobs introduced, and now the puzzles start throwing some serious brain benders. After we first opened the box we solved five or six in quick succession, and it was a blast, chilling with the puzzle book and my boyo, but they get harder pretty fast! There is enough ramp up that you get better as you go, but the last 10 puzzles still give me a headache.
Let's dive into the good stuff. Turing Tumble is just straight-up awesome. Building your own little computer gizmo to crack problems? I'm all in. It's a mix of setting up, getting those brain cogs turning, building your solution, and then boom! Watching your creation nail the puzzle is seriously satisfying.
The story that tags along with the puzzles is a bit out there, but it's fun. Kids will dig it. Adds a bit of meaning to the puzzles.
The way the puzzles ramp up the difficulty just right. They start you off easy, get you into the swing of things, and then start dropping new ideas and pieces your way. By the halfway mark, it's game on, and the puzzles are seriously interesting!
Quality-wise, the components are solid. Sturdy plastic, even with those fragile-looking parts. The box is on point with its storage setup, neatly organizing everything, and making it clear if you are missing pieces.
What's neat is that Turing Tumble isn't just a one-trick pony. You can mess around, experiment, see what crazy setups you can come up with. My boy figured out how to switch a marble's colour half way through the track by creative use of switches and interceptors. I've caught myself just playing around with the pieces, thinking, 'Can I make this work?' It's a good time.
So, in a nutshell, if you want your kid to be a puzzle-solving prodigy and enjoy every minute of it, Turing Tumble is where it's at. Cheers!
